Kitchen Garden · Rosemary, thyme, sage, parsley and basil sprigs in ink and wash
The herb bed, laid out like a pressed specimen sheet
Anyone who cooks with fresh herbs knows the little ritual of snipping a sprig just before dinner. This board lines up five kitchen favorites in quiet, orderly rows. It suits a cook who likes her counter calm and her pantry labeled.
About the artwork
Five upright sprigs stand side by side: needled rosemary, tiny-leaved thyme, velvety sage, frilly flat-leaf parsley and broad basil. Each is drawn in fine brown-black ink and washed in a different green, on a warm white ground with generous breathing space around every stem.
